Rose is the luxury of the collection, and the difference between real rose oil and rose fragrance is not subtle. This is deep, true, slightly green florality: the smell of the actual flower, not the idea of it.
It takes an extraordinary quantity of petals to produce a small amount of rose oil, which is why it has always been treated as precious. In aromatherapy, rose is associated with the heart, with grief, tenderness, and self-compassion, and it has long been used in skincare for mature and dry skin.
How to use
- Topically — dilute well in a carrier oil; a single drop is usually enough
- Facial oil — 1 drop into your usual carrier or night oil
- Diffuse — 1 to 2 drops; rose dominates a blend, so go light
- Blends well with — sandalwood, ylang ylang, bergamot, chamomile
