Bergamot is the most interesting citrus. Brighter than orange, less sharp than lemon, with a floral, faintly bitter edge: it is the scent that makes Earl Grey tea taste like Earl Grey tea.
Unusually for a citrus, bergamot is used in aromatherapy both to lift and to settle, which is why it turns up in so many mood blends. It plays well with almost everything.
